![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I remember he spoke beautifully and was so well informed and gracious. I felt a sense of pride for this admirable Oriya guy who was representing Utkal Univ even though I was a proud Aligarian. I had met Bagchi in AMU, Aligarh where he had come to participate at a national debate and walked away with the 1st prize. I really like the simple style and easy flow of English words from a guy who has been schooled in Oriya medium. I'm right now reading this beautifully written book by Subroto Bagchi and am loving every bit of it. Go Kiss the World will be an inspiration to ‘young India’, and to those who come from small-town India, urging them to recognize and develop their inner strengths, thereby helping them realize their own, unique potential." Through personal anecdotes and simple words of wisdom, Subroto Bagchi brings to the young professional lessons in working and living, energizing ordinary people to lead extraordinary lives. From humble beginnings, he went on to achieve extraordinary professional success, eventually co-founding MindTree, one of India’s most admired software services companies. Subroto Bagchi grew up amidst what he calls the ‘material simplicity’ of rural and small-town Orissa, imbibing from his family a sense of contentment, constant wonder, connectedness to a larger whole and learning from unusual sources. These words became the guiding principle of his life. 'Go, kiss the world’ were Subroto Bagchi’s blind mother’s last words to him. ![]() ![]() ![]() No matter how pretty the pages are, no matter how much work goes into the fight sequences, or story exposition goes on, the reader will always have in the back of his/her mind that this author does not have confidence in her work. I'm calling this a downfall because it colors my judgment from then on. ![]() "Gee, sorry my art is so crappy guys! Keep reading tho, kthxbai! Tee hee!" She precedes her story with a mawkish, pity-grubbing apology for how lousy her art is. Author Crystal "Lady" Yates has enough confidence in her work to put it on the web for the rest of us to see, but not enough confidence to so without apologizing first. ![]() No, I don't mean that fourth wall-tapping crap that other shitbomb webcomics start off with. This comic starts off in one of the worst possible ways a webcomic can start off. Welcome to Earthsong, or as I like to call it, the cure for consciousness. How boring? I fell asleep while reading this comic to review it. However, in spite of all these commonalities, Earthsong manages to be incredibly boring and long-winded. Just like the Sarah Ellerton pieces, Earthsong boasts a a magical world, a colorful cast and a deeply detailed story. Earthsong is no exception to this, and remains as one of the most popular fantasy comics on the web, just coming short of such webular juggernauts as Inverloch and The Phoenix Requiem. Fantasy comics have always been quite the audience draw on the internet, especially given that fans of World of Warcraft, Lineage, Dungeons and Dragons, and other fantasy IPs are notorious internet trolls. ![]() ![]() Well, we do!
